Tomato Basil Inc. started from a love of pizza and a life-changing moment. During the pandemic, our founder, an Italian engineer living in California, received a Bertello 16" pizza oven from his wife—a thoughtful gift that would soon spark something bigger.

In 2023, after suffering from an extremely rare condition, he found himself needing new ways to stay motivated and engaged. With his wife’s unwavering support, he decided to explore 3D modeling and printing. Before long, he designed and prototyped a custom door for the oven she had gifted him.

After several iterations, it became clear that this innovative door added significant value to his pizza oven, helping achieve better and better results with every bake. Pizzas were now truly crunchy and soft at the same time, surprising the pizza chef himself.
Realizing its potential, he decided to share it with pizza enthusiasts around the world.

Through learning the ins and outs of manufacturing and launching the product on Etsy, Tomato Basil Inc. was born—a testament to creativity, resilience, and a love for making the perfect pizza.
